Pipe Recommendations

I have a 2002 FLSTS and I would like to put "true duals" on the bike. I did this with my 1992 FLHTC, but things have changed a bit since I did my 1992.

This is what I want:

- A true dual set up with a deep throaty sound. I know that the larger the diameter on the muffler, the throatier the sound.

I have not found anything yet I am satisfied with, so I am looking for help from you all.

Things I have considered:
1) Samson headers with KerKer mufflers (setup I did on my 1992).
2) Samson true dual setup, but the mufflers are 2 1/2" (or something like that).

I was looking at V&H mufflers too, but not sure if they will slip onto a Samson header. The easiest thing would be to buy a complete true dual set up from Samson (or others if they exist), but I don't know what they will sound like.

Any advice/information is greatly appreciated.

Look into Rinehart

BUB offers the Rinehart exhaustsystems for softail models here are some of the details on the product from the Bub site:

Now I do not have any personal experience with the Rinehart exhaust systems but have heard nothing but good things about them.

I looked at the Bub pipes, but they don't have what I am looking for. I want true duals with one pipe on each side of the bike, with fishtails. The only thing I can find are Samson, but their muffler diameter is 2 1/4", which to doesn't provide that deep sound. I have been trying to find a soundbite of the pipe, but no luck.

Also, I live in a small West Texas town, so bike gatherings are very limited.

V & H's

I went with Vance and Hines true dule headers on my roadking, that way I could use any muffler I wanted. Ended up with Pythons, but V & H has a great selection of mufflers or you could use any other brand that you liked.

The V & H headers eliminate the factory cross over and really cleans up the look of the bike.

Thanks for the advice and information. Unfortunately V&H does not make headers for the FLSTS. I see them for the FLH, so I doubt they will fit mine. I am kinda limited on the FLSTS model.
