Plug gaps

    anyone have any good numbers for plug gaps? i run champ, ra8hc in a 06 1450 with v/h, LS's with buffles and se/ac. i'd like it to light up like an explosion:devil: they're @ about .40 now

    Specs are 0.38 to .042 so you are in specs, I tend to gap at .038 to allow for normal electrode wear that will widen the gap, and still be in specs latter. I tend to foul champions out sooner, have had better results with NGK's

    Found the same thing with Champions & NGKs. I really was wondering about that, glad to hear someone else did too. Was thinking I just might have been too fussy! :)

    NGK plugs set at .038 here as well. If you want to try out different plugs here is a cross reference chart for many different brands.

    on the same topic....what do y'all use to gap your plugs?? i use one of those "wheel" gappers

    same here

    thats what i use too (silverdollar). i'v checked around seems everyone perfers them over the "wire type" seems to me there ought to be something more percise:picked:

    i have used feeler gauge in the past.....but havent since i started using the wheel.......just to convienient i guess......

    that was back in the day, no tool box was without one. seems they went away with old points. can still remember strugging with those dual points:eek:
