Maybe the Indians will be around a while now. Got to wait and see. Expensive bikes in any case.

I look at it this way. Indian is an American name was an American company originally and now a well established American Company who also builds motorcycles owns them. So the Indian name will continue as an American name...theres hope. Plus with Polaris behind them I think it will be a positive thing. :)

The guys that bought Indian before this, and sold to Polaris
are a group of big money investors that like to resurrect famous
    company names/brands.

One of the brands they brought back was Chris Craft, not known
for cheap ass wal-mart flat bottom fishing boats LOL

The market was the high end of the bike spectrum, if you look at total sales
and then compare CVO sales, there is a slice of the market that has
the disposable income to own one, either to display or ride, doesn't matter.

The bits on these bikes that I saw in Daytona were either very well made,
billet, solid, good technology, and the seats and bags are USA hand stitched
leather... Low production numbers, with higher quality parts = higher per unit
    cost...

Hopefully Polaris will bring the costs down and they can build a good
value bike from high end to general market level...

Chief might be the expensive end, a Scount more reasonable, which was
the original plan when I talked with the guys a few years ago, then Obamanomics
    hit.... change of plans...

Nope. My EX-indie (sort of like an ex-wife from hell) has a 1940's Indian Chief. Never rides it. It collects dust in his garage. He doesn't ride at all anymore. What a waste.

Saw one reviewed in Amer.Bagger mag. They loved it but, over 34k.I'll take a CVO flhx over it. Of course there are people who would be able to buy both for garage art.

They had a whole lineup of the Indians at sturgis. Nice looking bikes but the cheapest in the lineup was around 32k. Not to mention they are made in mexico now I think not minnesota if it's polaris

That was a rumor someone started on the boards,
if you take the time to google it you'll find out it's not true.
