Polishing up exhaust

I put a set of Joker Machine black coated pipes on my night train, and took off some VH Slash cuts off. The guy I bought the bike off of didn't take care to clean them off when they got dirty/wet and he had a habbit of resting his boot on the lower pipe. These pipes aren't blued too bad and sound great and it would be a shame to just put them up on a shelf in the garage. Any suggestions on how to shine them up so that I can send them to a new home?

I've had good luck with those cotton wadding polishes. I think the one I use is made by Eagle One. It's in a silver can. You can pick it up at just about any store that carries car care products. If the pipes have boot sole melted on them try some Goo Gone. It always works for me.

The cotton wadding I use is Neverdull. It works great for the melted rubber too if you can heat the pipes up a little.

I use MEK to remove stains off the chrome. The chrome must have no flakes or deep scratches if you are going to use this stuff. It will remove melted rubber within 1 to 2 wipes and then proceed to polish with mothers chrome cleaner/polisher to a brilliant shine

Between Mother's and Eagle One, that's all I use.
