Popping in the exhaust pipes

I recently purchased a 2003 Honda Shadow 750 cd. The previous owner installed Corbra pipes on it. This what may be causing the popping. A guy said to me that I have to rejet the carburators but didn't have any details. Can anyone help me. Thanks. Nycmjpa

You should definately rejet the carb. I believe dynojet makes a kit for that bike. Also a air cleaner kit would be a wise investment.
First and easiest, check for any exhaust leaks. This will also cause a pop in the exhaust on decel.

I have worked with some pipes that are just imposible to tune all the 'POP" out of but, you can get it prety close.

Air cleaner/air filter. Whats the difference? Do you have a high flow kit or not?

Hmm, does that include Axial flow turbines? Centrifugal flow turbines? Perhaps he is a spark chaser or a hydraulic speciialist? Flight controls maybe?

I did not see in any post where he states that he worked on internal combustion engines did you?

You probably know a ton more about engines, but he could probably loose you in about two seconds flat on a flight control system.

Give the a guy a break and lighten up. I would appreciate it if you gave sound advice and help or give none at all. It's all about respect, remember?

I have the same problem on my 02 Softail Heritage. I thought I was the only person who could hear it. I was getting ready to post on this topic and update a previous topic I posted on.

Sometimes, depending on the pipe you have, you may never get the pop out. You did not mention when the pop was occurring, I’ll assume it’s on deceleration, so, my two cents are on a lean condition.

Just remember, run those air cooled motors rich. I set my idle @ 14.4-14.7 AFR and full load at about 11.8-11.9 WOT. Midrange is about 12.8 @2800 RPM. It helps if you have a dyno and a wideband o2.
