    Hey Redneck Chucktx.
    Got a question for you.
KNow you are small time into Power Coating.

I heard somebody today talkin about taking a piece of aluminum and powercoating a piece of aluminum Gloss Clear.
Have you heard of or tried to do this to anything.
Hear it keeps the aluminum from tarnishing.

Off the subject but....does $8000 sound like a good deal for a powder coating business?? Saw this while looking for tool boxes on Craiglist here in Houston. Just thought it interesting that a guy was selling his business, including the domain name, on Craigslist.

depends on what the equipment is worth and what condition
as well as inventory, customer list, did he have any customers that were
    regular or walk in..

See if he'd take a note.... Give it a run for a year, pay it monthly out of
    earnings...

i looked at the llink.....if all is as stated, and you have a place for it, not a bad deal. the other thing to check is the bbb....see if there is a lot of complaints. did he state why he was selling????

He probably couldn't turn enough business to make a living at it. We're one of the only two reputable powder coating outfits in town (pop. 100,000), & we don't get much for small batch jobs. We do some motorcycle stuff, bicycle frames, car parts, etc. A small-time set up like that would probably work out best as a sideline at an already-established business, like a bike shop or car restoration shop. Powder coating is great. I do it for a shop in AZ. As long as the metel is clean (no bondo) it is a simple process. Works great on parts that might have been scratched. Lots of colors
and it holds up better then paint.
