We had a guy on our chapter ride last month. First time riding a bike with ABS. Yes it was a 09 Ultra with ABS and new to him. (he rides a lot) Comes in the parking lot, makes a tight turn to park it and uses the front brake and rear brake. Locked up to quick and over she went. I talked to him after the embarrassment whore off and told him when doing slow maneuvers like that just use the rear brake, better control. The ABS can be touchy at times.

Also you might let him know the 09's have a wider turning radius than previously made FL's and the 10 and 11's

This was found out at the Police bike training schools hd changed the stop positions
on the frame and so you cannot turn as tight on an 09 as you can on any FL before or after funny it's an 09 only issue, I was wondering why I was having to take more room to turn in the road,

Could have fooled me on mine, never noticed a difference can still do a figure eight in a box with the bagger at the ERC class. Pretty tight and yea gotta use the rear brake for stability and control.

I had been thinkin of tryin to git a new bike in a couple years. like how new bikes has a bigger back tire. And I find out about you can't turn as tight.
    Had me 2nd guessing............
I have ridden the new bikes but never tried to make a real tight turn either.:banghead:

The fat tire does not hinder it at all. I love the fat tire add to the ride quality. I really like the ABS brakes to.

CB nothing to do with the rear tire, it's the stops ON THE 2009 ONLY
that make a difference, unless you spend your life on a cone course you won't notice
    the difference.

All the 10 and 11 models were changed back to have the same lock to lock
distance so that Law Enforcement could work the turns as they have before

So ONLY 2009 has the issue.
