After taking a ride and letting the bike sit awhile, I am getting no power when I initially turn my key. After about 10 or so trys I get power and the bike starts. So initially I think it is an issue with my ingnition switch.

So today I ride to work, and had the issue in the morning, and same thing when I left to go home. After I got home and the bike was still warm, I kept turing the key on and off, and got power every time. After letting it sit a few hours and trying again, no power.

I decided to see what would happen if I put the bike on the trickle charger and turn the key. Sure enough the power came back, but it turned the light on the trickle back to red right away.

It appears to me that for some reason my battery isnt holding a charge and it isnt an issue with the ignition switch. Not sure if it is the battery went bad, or if something else is causing it not to hold a charge. I really dont have any accessaries that drain power. During the winter I used the trickle on and off not constant, not sure if that had an impact on the battery.

    Any opinions or thoughts?

    Thanks

clean all battery connections....including to the frame. both positive and negative. make sure they are nice and shiney. check the inside of the wire at the terminal for corrosion also.....

I had a similar problem recently, I had to take my bike in to shop anyway so they offered to test my charging system and battery, luckily I just need a new battery.

If you have any way of measuring the battery's output you should test it just after riding, and then check it every hour for an afternoon, If there's a big difference you probly need a new battery.

Most auto parts places will have battery test stations - try that as well as what chucktx said.

Check the connections like Chuck said, if the are good, start bike and put
a meter on the battery terminals, not the cables but the terminals should be about 14.4 or so, any more, the regulator isn't working and it's over charging, any less, might bet
    charging system not charging...

Take battery to autozone store for free load test.

    I have sources
    plenty of information out
there you have to know where to look

Johnny I found the sound byte the guy posted
of the new dyna as it went by the pits at
the Arizona HD facility, he was using a long
range mic so it's lower quality, be sure to
crank your speakers up on high or you can't
    hear it..
