Pre-deploy date with daughter

    So, today, I dedicated to my daughter....our final "date" before deployment. It was only the 2 of us. Rode the bike and did a number of things. Went to the base library (she is in the summer reading club and got some prizes!), mini golf...I beat her, but not by much! Then went to Sonic for ice cream, then did a 50 mile loop on the bike. After that went and saw Toy Story 3 in 3D, then for Chinese food for dinner (her choice!) SHE was the one that chose all the activities. Was a GREAT day. She wants to finish things off with a picnic and fishing tomorrow...have to see!

    Used to do that with mine when she about that age - she still brings it up now and then when were talking bout "the good ole days".
    Cherise each moment with them it what makes livin on this ball of mud worthwhile.
    Good luck on your deployment - wish I was going with you - I miss all the good times I had when I was still on AD.

    wow chris, what the hell ya feeding that girl!!!!!!!! she is growing like a weed!!!!!!!!!!! lol she is making me feel old.........

    glad y'all had a good day and hopefully she will get to do some fishing, i know that is her second favorite thing to do!!!!!!!!!!

    Just got back from part 2 of the Daddy/Daughter date! We had Mom with us also, so it was lots of fun...least for Daughter and I (wife isn't much into fishing...)!! Started at church, then came home, changed into picnic/fishing clothes, got some worms....and proceeded to drown a couple of them! Got 1 carp each and daughter also got a turtle...spit the hook just before I netted it!

    looks like ya made her day!!!!!!!!! great she likes doing outdoor stuff. that type of upbringing will make for a solid anchor in her growing up!!!!!!! good on you!!!!!!
