. . . and about time, too. An Arkansas private Christian school has been training and arming staff to fend off murderous kid killers. They've posted warning signs, too. All this in the face of the state's Attorney General banning teacher firearms in schools.

well don't that beet all ,I do think a few teachers should be trained & armed & not let anyone know who it is until need be , that will keep the few bad kids from steeling them & a bad guy from just taking his chances

Public schools will probably never allow teachers to carry. Too many embedded liver-lillied-liberals. But state government can't dictate policy to private schools as long as they're not taking any state funding. That's one of the primary reasons charter schools were invented - to lure private schoolers away so the state can maintain control over curriculum, which union teachers to hire, and keep prayer and the pledge of allegiance out of the schools.

Private education has always been better than public. But if my kid was school age now I think I'd opt for home school. The world is just freaking crazy now.

Public schools are all teachers union run and therefore Democrat voting and controlled. Unions are the problem, ban em, ban em all. You'll never get teachers who think for themselves as long as their controlled by the unions.

Not entirely true Flht. I personally know several who say yeah yeah to the unions then go vote conservative. Just because they are members don't make them sheep. If a person has the calling and wish to teach, they have no choice but to be union.

That's right they have to join the dammmmm union and have no choice. Don't know any around here who vote other thanDemocrat, I know I'm also married to one and yep she voted like a sheep for that dang A hole worthless president. Why, because she won't go against the dammmm union. We have had some strong words about it and she even admitted that he is a crappy president.
That lousy teachers union is strong and usually get what they want. Try firing a crappy teacher if they got their tenure in, ain't gonna happen.

Well the flip side of I'd this. What happens in the voting booth stays in the voting booth. The union can say And pressure all they want, f them. Now if you know Anything about the school system (around here anyway) you know how political it is. Any school employee can be hired or fired based on who they know or who likes or dislikes them. Superintendents and assistant supers on down the pecking order right to the custodians ( I'm one) are hired by who they know. BUT until you make union or tenure you can be fired for a bs reason. Example. A good friend of wife's is a middle aged teacher like my wife. She git hired as a first grade teacher. Put in 3 school years and was consistently rated excellent by her principle. However she was let go just prior to tenure. She's obese and all the other ladies there are trim and fit yuppies. No reason given for firing. Further, principles aren't usually experienced teachers. Yet they get to evaluate teachers. Unlike corporations school systems don't have effective "managers". Now the government has stepped in and some no nothing bureaucrats are writing tests for all students to take in order to evaluate schools And teachers. So teachers are now for Ed to teach to pass a test and not to each students individual needs.

I don't know man, I had a few friends that voted for that a-hole and couldn't give a good reason why and still would vote for him so II eliminated those idiots from my life. I'd probably have a terrible marriage if my wife voted for that a-hole and still liked him.

Teachers need to be evaluated. To many bad ones in the school system. Don't know what would be fair system to evaluate them, but they need to be just like in the real working world. I knew some fat teachers, did a good job and they didn't loose their job must of been something else going on. My wife always feels the republicans are out to hurt teachers and the education system why, because the Fn unions put out their lies. Don't need the teachers union anymore its just to big and powerful of a lobby.
The wife don't like him she just votes with her party.
