Ok, so am looking at a route to drive for the Sturgis run. I am only planning the San Antonio to Iowa City, IA part of the route..... I am looking at map quest and found the route San Antonio to Tyler to Texarkana (all in TX), to Springfield MO, to Iowa City..... has anyone been over the part of the route from San Antonio to Texarkana via Tyler (as outlined by mapquest) and Texarkana to Springfield????? I want to know road/gas conditions if possible! I tried to link to the page, but that feature isn't working yet... so, to look at the route, just type in the cities that I have listed in the order listed. Thanks for any/all help!!!

    AF,

I don't mean to stick my nose in your business, but, I gotta ask... why do you have to go to Iowa first and then to Sturgis. Is it to meet your Father in law? If I where you I would have him meet you in Denver of somthing cause the drive to Iowa and then back to ND has got to just be the suckiest drives I could think about.

He could ride to Denver pretty easy from where he is I would think, then the two of you could take a few days and drive around CO and WY and MT then go to Sturgis.

I rode to Sturgis from Detroit once when I was living near there. I made it all the way to Omaha the first day (700miles) and then made it to Denver the second. I remember when I got to CO I thought to my self "thank God, I can finaly start my vacation". The drive through Nebraska at 100F was the worst.

Sorry if I'm being a pest. I have a way of doing that sometimes.
