Push rod noise

    Here is my problem. I have a 1996 Evo, I replaced the stock cam with mild Crane cam. I replace the oem pushrods with Crane adjustable push rods. Now I have this rattling noise and the mechanic called Crane and they told him the new push rods were larger than the oem ones and they are actually hitting the sides of the pushrod tubes. Crane said they had calls on this all the time and to go to the dealer and get oversized push rod tubes and that would fix the problem. I have called the dealer and talked to several bike garages and no one has ever heard of over sized push rod tubes. I need some help if anyone knows where to buy this item, or any experiences with the same problem...Thanks

    i would go back to crane....they sold you an incomplete kit. if they knew the stock pushrod covers would not fit, they should have sold them to you....they should have them.

    The pushrod tubes that come with the HD Timesaver pushrods are different sized, so the adjuster nuts won't tap the pushrod tubes.

    One other thing you can do is to pull it apart, then, cut down the top slider tube about 1 inch using a tube cutter for like copper pipes.

    Just measure and mark them so you don't cut the top tube (not chrome) too short.

    Or you can order the timesaver pushrod tubes.
