It's a 62-63 Panhead emblem. I had nixed it, but the message didn't get to the right guy. I'm glad it didn't. I like the way it looks. The air cleaner is new too - got the little 95" medallion for the middle.

The ride's been great, but the weather has su-f'ing-ucked. But, as they say, a bad day of riding beats just about anything else you can do ever. Well, maybe that's not exactly what they say... :roflmao:

Off to blog...Abby's Blog (in case you don't have it stashed somewhere)

BTW, it's not just the light that makes it look red up front and black further back - that was the plan. It looks almost all black without any light on it. You only see the red when the sun or other light hits it.

    hpe yer weather changes

A buddy of mine put that similiar emblem on one of his newer rides and I teased him about it looking like a Roadstar emblem (or something like that). He took it well and told me I was the one that was with him when he got it!!:D His Dad had one when he was (think it was a 61-62) a kid and put it on there as a throw back and as a rememberance of his Dad's ol ride. Hey it looks good Hope ya enjoy the ride!!!

Yes, it's a memorial of sorts to "back in the day". I guess when Yamaha stole the v-twin cruiser idea, they went all the way. :roflmao:

Lots of rain, but an incredible ride this morning. Just amazing. I had no idea that road was there or how awestruck I'd be. Over a hundred miles of pure jaw-dropping beauty. And when I stopped in some podunk town, lost, because some guy at breakfast told me I should take the back roads, this couple on a Gold Wing just magically swept in and led me on more of incredible roads. It just went on and on. I picked up a couple of guys in - I don't know where - but we rode back to Colorado Springs together, most of the way in the rain. It was like a micro-portion of last year's trip. Just as uplifting and inspiring, but just for a weekend.

    I feel whole again!:D

Sorry. I took some photos with my camera, and the color is strange. The bike looks purple. I got some with my little camera, but I didn't realize I didn't have the SD card in, so they're on the memory in the camera, and I can't find the right cable to download them. :gah:

I'll get some today with my good camera. I'll upload the ones from my camera, but keep in mind that the color is red, not purple. And I don't like it with the windshield on, which looks blue instead of shaded black, so ignore that.

They make the reflective tape in black, so that you only see it when it's reflecting. I hadn't even thought about it. But since you liked it so much...
