    Greetings:

I'm from Canada and I am definitely a Conservative here. I think the Conservative politics in the U.S.A. do not look after the poor and disadvantaged people like here in Canada. One simple solution to raise more taxes is to increase your "sin" taxes greatly on liquor, beer, wine, all tobacco products and gasoline.
In any event, I scored 10. I'm almost embarassed.
    Thanks for reading

    10 ..holy cow!!!!

..I figured you had to be from back east somewhere..:)[then I read where you were from] .....get out here in the wild west....it's a whole 'nother trip. There are times where I see the conservative's metho
dology of looking after the poor and disadvantaged here up north aren't any great shakes neither. We pay health care premiums in AB..there's talk of some graduated system based on lifestyle....anyway, these guys ain't here to hear me bitch about Canadian politics..spring's coming soon.

ps welcome aboard..this is a good place to be

I got a 19.....not sure exactly how that makes me feel. I certainly didn't think I would have been that low. I might have to try it again.

Scored a 22..seems about right. I've been a lifetime Republican until recently when I changed to Independent. I'll never register Democrat though..about the only thing I'd ever say never to. Main reason for the switch is I'm tired of the religious right screwing in conservative politics. I really consider myself a moderate..so Independent is the closest thing. Best way to describe it is I'm fiscally conservative, but liberal in things like abortion, women's rights, e.g., right to choose. Shouldn't we all have a right to choose? Helmets! (not that I'd ride without one ever again)

Scored a 34. If I'd have taken this when I was 25, I'd probably scored a 19. Seen too much to think that the gov is our savior.

I'm right there with you on everything except abortion SK. I'm very conditional about that. I think it should be illegal except in cases of rape or where the mother's life is in danger. It's not so much that I was raised Christian, but that I saw some of our high school sluts using it as an 'after the fact' birth control. One girl we called "Abortion Bobby" ...I'd heard she had three before we even got out of high school.

I guess it adds a touch of credibility to the quiz that we agree on so much and have close scores.

I scored a 12. Don't know if that makes me a cynic or just an optimist with experience. Probably would have scored the same at 19, I'm 54 now and still livin' in the 70's

Very interesting. I scored a 35 which doesn't surprise me. Some of the "who do you trust" questions were tough because if they are elected, I don't trust any of them. It's all about staying in power not what's best for the country.

I understand where you're coming from Seahag, but the way I look at the HS girl you mention is..should she be a mother of a couple of brats at that age? Wouldn't be fair to the kids. I don't wanna start a big conversation on abortion, but I know if I was a woman..I'd wanna be in charge of what happens to my body.

I'm with you SK, and I definately don't want to start a big discussion about this, but I think women should be in charge of what happens to their bodies, not politicians. Ok, enough from me on that subject, I don't want to rattle any cages or start any sh*t!!

Many years ago I used to bartend, and there was one rule that kept the fists and pool cues in check. We always tried to stay away from talking religion or politics.

Everyone is welcome to their opinion but its not worth getting worked up over.

    BTW, I scored 21 :D

I don't think this is the place to discuss abortion either but let me have one more word. Unless she is raped, a woman does have control of what happens to her body. When she choses to let herself get pregnant, she involves another person, the baby. Birth control (before getting pregnant) is the answer. Rape and incest is another story. I know I'm inconsistent on this point but I can't fault a woman or girl for getting away from that situation. My two cents.
