Raido mystery

    Ok, got one that really stumps me. 1998 FLHT with raido. Everything, all functions work great untill I turn the ignition switch off. When I turn it back on the raido will not come on unless I remove and reincert the fuses. Onec Ive done this it plays great. Have disconnected and re connected every wire harness from raido to amp. same result. Anyone with any ideas please let me know. Thanks Glenn

    it is definatly a lack of power......have you changed the fuse???? maybe there is a problem with it???? drawin straws here...............:)

    If it's the two prong plistic type pull it & scrape both side's of the prongs & try that , if glass type scrape both ends & go from there I have seen this on some trucks & have hade to do both to make them work

    Maybe use a little dielectric grease on those connections too. Odd problem to say the least. Could be a relay or something like that.

    Thanks for the replys. The fuses are ok and everything works fine once its up and running but whats really strange is that i have to disconnect and reconnect power to get it running. Along with while its down ( say for 24 hrs ) when I reconnect power the clock is correct. I see that there two fuses, one for the radio power and one for the memory. Its got me baffled!!

    it is sounding more like an internal problem to me......it holds its memory....try a local electronics/radio/cb type shop......harley doesnt work on there own equipment and have to send it off......maybe a local can help ya out......:)
