I was reading something here and it got me to thinken so here we go. A while back my re jeted my S&S super E (S&S 124") because I was running a little fat. I replaced the intermediate jet 32 with a 31 no more unused gas smell ect... Check the plugs nice and golden brown. runs nice and crisp... OH yea... but on sometimes it pops a little when I let off the throttle like it's running to lean so I turn out my mixture screw and it's still there anybody got any ideas? Vacuum? Thanks

if the plugs are nice....probably not lean......i look at the exhaust clamps....suckin some air into the exhaust will cause a pop on deceleration............

I don't think "sometimes" popping is telling you something is amiss. Many race cars and bikes pop A LITTLE on deceleration. Problem is, what is a little and what is too much?

    Super E is small for a 124, I ran a G on mine....

Check for leaks in the exhaust, and if that doesn't fix
it, might be you have to adjust fuel with the mix
screw so when the carb closes down it is giving the
engine the proper amount of fuel

    Lightly seat screw
    Back out about 2 turns
    Now
    Warm up bike
    Set idle to 1500-1800
Then adjust screw turn out until
Idle starts to change then turn in
Counting turns until idle drops or stumbles

Turn back out half the turns
    And it's set

A new way to set my carb. I take it I'm supposed to turn my carb back down to around 900 RPM's when I'm done. Thanks
