Hi folks. Been having to do other things for a spell. Been in and out of the hospital a couple of times due to the chemo reacting. Had to stop one of the chemo agents because it about killed me - literally. My B/P got down to 67/46. Renal shutdown occurs when the B/P drops to 80 so I was thinking - okay my kidneys have shutdown so I reckon my liver is next. Anyhow I went in the hospital, got two units of blood which makes a total of about 10 units over the course. I also got about 6 liters of fluid plus electrolytes. Death usually occurs when you dehydrate 15% of your body weight and I dehydrated 19.4% so God was really holding me in his hands and arms cause I was flat in bed. Anyhow I recovered from that enough to straddle the Harley to Rolling Thunder in DC. Even better news though, I finished my chemo yesterday evening with supper and my Oncologist told me that he expected me to have a 100% recovery and be totally clear of this cancer. We will now look again at the Multiple Myeloma situation which will probably just be monitored the rest of my life. Bike wise I have had a set of Wood triple 7 cams installed. Dynoed at 98 HP and 101 torque and man can I tell (and feel) the difference. I really appreciate all the many prayers and well wishes from my bike-talk family.:):):):):)

Be grateful that things have worked out this way. There is a guy at work that found out that he has cancer and it is inoperable. :(

Glad to see you back and that things are going much better for you. :D

10-4 on riding being the best therapy. There were lots of days that I really wanted (and needed) to ride but just didn't have the strength or feel safe enough to get on it.

    Hi Cowboy,
I see it's 79 degees in Alvin this morning. So far it's only 72 here but will probably be around 94 before the day is out. We've been hitting over 100 for the past several days. Got to go to a funeral here in a bit. Some friends of our got the phone call that you don't ever want to get. Their son had died. But it's going to be a pretty day at least. Have a good day.

Yup. It's sitting right now awaiting a few small parts. I've put 1600 miles on it and it runs pretty good for a 35 year old motor. Have you gotten any more riding time in?

I ride to work every day that I can. Teh last big trip would have been to Rolling Thunder in DC on Memorial Day weekend. I also went on a poker run for the disabled vets a couple of weekends ago.

We had some pretty bad storms here yesterday but I got home before they hit. When I got home I had part of a 30 year old maple laying in our front yeard. A guy is coming buy today to give me an estimate for removing the whole tree. I thought about just cutting up the fallen part and letting the rest grow for a spell but after looking at the damage, I would be taking it down within the next 5 years so I decide to cut my losses and get rid of the whole tree then plant another.

Danny... good to hear from you. Just mentioned you the other night to my wife... told her I had not heard a word and was worried. Good Lord is looking out for you man!

When you feel like it, give me a shout and I will ride over your way. :)

Hi Mountain Cruiser. I got my port took out yesterday so now I'm completely back to "normal architecture" (other than missing about a foot of diseased bowel). My upper chest is just a dab sore from where the port was taken out but that's nothing at all. I'm just glad to get things over with. We went up to our son's and daughter-in-law's house last night for pizza and fireworks. Everybody had a "blast".

Yep, I'd like to get together. Maybe we can have a meal over at The Maple Tree in Unicoi sometime.:D
