If the people in the state git together and vote for having a law stating that a Police officer must widness in person a viloation.
And that doesn't include sittin in a office lookin threw a camera.

Red light camera tickets will not be legal anymore.

They tryed it here and it didn't last long - the bill was put on the shelve and hopefully that's where it will stay.
The idea behind it was to nail those people who thought that a yellow light meant speed up and get thru it. The thought might have started out to be a good idea but the idea of big brother knockin at the door turned off most of the voters and they let the state assembly know it in record time. Plus the cost for this would be carryed out through a raise in taxes; something every politiction knows is not the thing to do when yer comin up for re-election.

There have been studies that show that the cameras don't reduce the violations, however they do increase rear end collisons as people slam on brakes with yellow lights to avoid getting a ticket, and BAM, rear ended..

The cameras do increase revenue, and if safety is the issue, then increase the points for running a red light and take away licenses...

The state doesn't allow it in FL, but cities and counties here have found a legal way around it for now...

They have the third party companies that share in the revenue put the equipment up, and they create a "fine" for running the light, like a parking ticket, no points, nothing but pure money fees.... So it's not a "traffic ticket" so the state law doesn't apply.

I have an interest in seeing red light runners stopped as being on a motorcycle
you could get killed by an idiot running a light, almost got hit by a guy looking down
in his work truck pulling a trailer at 50 mph as he blew through the light, I was first in the lanes with green, and stopped you could tell he wasn't gonna stop..

The only way to stop it is to have a law passed that any photo traffic device funds must be split 50/50 with some state organization like Child Abuse Prevention Office or something like that, which eliminates the profit for the third party company..

The way to stop it is for the voters to pass a law stating the violation has to be witnessed by a police officer and the ticket ha to be issued by a police officer and the Police officer cannot witness it threw a camera.

They passed the law a few years ago, think some people got together, passed the law and brought a law suit against the state.
Redlight camera now are just for servalance

If your obeying the law, not trying to run through a yellow light trying to beat the red light you won't have to stop fast and have no issues. If everyone would do that then those red light camera's wouldn't be needed. :)

You sure that's all its about, folks runnin redlights.
They give themabout 200.00 tickets if a Police officer witnesses it.
Does that stop them. Give me a break.
Speeding tickets are over 200.00 and they write them all day long. Nobody even stops when the police have somebody over.
If you have 50 or so cars passing at a time. The police can only pull one over per car.

there's about 5 million people here, traffic suxs
who you gonna slow down. YOu, the Police can't

people git caught under the cameras in traffic and git tickets. cameras can make mistakes. And the redlight cameras are not metered and properly maintained for accuracy.
The city got over 600,000 at their 15% last year.
You think they care about any of that.
They look only at the money.
The City of Houston should be Audited for spending and wasting money.

The Big Problem is there are toooo many people in one place. Everybody's runnin late and everybody's in a hurry.
    Control the Population.

Here is a article from my Attorney and what he thinks about Redlight cameras.

Attorney Michael Kubosh said, “It’s a money grab. It’s not about public safety. It’s about revenue.” Mr. Kubosh filed a lawsuit in February against the city of Houston after purposely running red lights at camera-controlled intersections so he could challenge the use of the new revenue machines. He said his Houston ticket was mailed from Arizona and has a payment address in Ohio, indicating out-of-state private interests are profiting from the supposed “increased public safety” at Texas intersections.

what ya need to do is every camera ya see, take it out with your gun,,,,,then their wouldnt be any more cameras.....city would go broke tryin to keep up with you..........then they couldnt pay the cops to do their job and that would make the police force so small they couldnt harass you.....their would be no courts or judges, hell, then ya could go out and run 120mph through town, and not worry about a ticket........
