i found that on my 06 soft tail with efi that there are two relays under the seat. one for the starter and a "systems relay". what i found is that they are both the same, they are inter changeable. the gray/black thing doesn't really mean anything. hopefully this may be helpful. a couple of these would be good to carry on the bike

Yeah, that is good to know. I'll get a spare one.

I also, saw an interesting invention. There is this company that combined a security system packaged into the starter relay. It look really sweet. I've been meaning to look this thing up. Apparently you carry a keybob that is a transmitter to this relay and when you are not around the bike won't start even if you left the ignition unlocked.

I found one called Digital Guard Dawg motorcylce Security. Look that up. It's kinda cool but it is $149.00 to $169.00.

    thinking

that makes me wonder if i could re-locate the relays to where i could have access and pull one in a situation where one would need a little added security:picked:
