Removal of light socket on rear signal

    I am trying to change the rear light bar and i cant seem to get the light socket out of the housing any ideas thanks:confused:

    if you are changing the bar, why remove the light socket???? the wiring unplugs...just curious...

    I want to tell you i think this website is just what I was lookin for I have been banned from hd talking website for LIFE for using inappropriate language and I appreciate your help..so where the heck is the plug for the rear runnig lights?

    the plug is in the tail light....remove the lens and you will see the plugins.........and we dont use profanity here either.........we get close, but refrain....:)

    your best tool will be the factory service manual....it will pay for itself the first time you use it and dont screw something up!!!!!!!!:D

    on the newer HD's when you remove the lens (screws on each side) you will see the bulb
    which will come out just like any old bulb.

    The connectors are in the block all around the bulb, simply press the button on each one and pull back, sometimes they are tight, so don't yank on the wires, then you are fubar'd

    When you are at the auto parts store get a couple of little packets of dielectric grease so when you put in bulbs or electrical connections dab a bit on, kills corrosion and keeps things in tip top shape.

    It's ky for electrical parts.

    It all goes with what you know I hate all those little connectors and things you can't hit with a hammer too! :fight::fight:

    the factory service manual will save you a lot of time, money, and headaches!!!! it is worth every penny, and will become the best tool in your box!!!!!!!!!
