I am not crazy about the original big banana caliper on my 73 FX. I have yet to find anybody offering a different design replacement caliper for this model. I beleive the front end on the FX in 73 was just the 73 sportster front end. Can anybody point me in a direction?

    Catalogs

Well Cameroon, It's just a matter of looking. Of course I would start with Direct Parts first, as they have a pretty extensive on-line-catalog. There are plenty of free catalogs out there, and some that are not free. I'm not going to name any here out of respect for D.P. So, get yourself a couple of motorcycle mags and start looking, or start calling around to your local indy's, you will be surprised what you can find with a little effort. Good luck.

    Calipers

I would imagine that Performance Machine has a caliper and bracket configuration that will work. They make four piston calipers and mounting brackets for just about everything. I've seen them on lots of older bikes. You can see what they have at

    http://www.performancemachine.com/index_Launch.html.

DP should be able to get whatevere you find there.

    Good luck!

I would suggest PM as we have had a lot of good luck with them over the years. Plus, replacement parts are more likely to be available when needed.

Send an e-mail to Sam@directparts.com for info.
