Started out in the morning with temps in the upper 40s - Brrr. Stopped at the courthouse to pay a $460 ticket and then continued on to Snow Hill to meet Badinfluence63.
Got there around noon, I guess, and we went out and had lunch and talked motorcycles, etc. Had a fine time. Got to meet his wife, who took pictures of us and gave me a tasty quick bread to take home. Rode about 120 miles total.

On the way there, I developed trouble kick starting the bike. I thought it was a broken tooth in the kicker mechanism, but it turned out to be that the clutch adjusting screw was too tight. I stopped along the road and backed it out some and the shifting and the kicker worked like a charm. Thought I was gonna have to put in a new throwout bearing or new gear, but it seems to be okay.

It was great fun finally meeting a forum member.:D

I always forget to take my camera along. But I wouldn't be able to post pics yet anyway. Bike seems okay. I've decided to put in an old style throwout bearing to replace to chintzy one I now have. Last one I had broke apart on me and I had to go fishing around inside the tranny for pieces. It'll also give me a chance to inspect all the clutch innards and make sure everything is copacetic.

None of the above, boys. I failed to move over into the passing lane for a parked "emergency" vehicle. Going about 60 - 65 in a 70 zone. It was 2 cop cars and I guess they were having donuts and coffee, I don't know. Anyway, just before I passed, one of them comes around the side of the car so I slowed down and moved over a little, but not into the other lane. Oh, and I was driving my mother-in-laws cage.

The other one came after me and when I stopped he says, "You almost hit that officer." I said, "No way I could have hit him."

There's been several state troopers run down and killed lately on N.C. highways. They take it very seriously around here. I plead guilty and got the fine and 10 days suspended. I assume that's jail time, I don't know.

At least I don't have to go to Fool School.

did you talk to the A.D.A.before pleading guilty? Sometimes you can get a discount that way.

I just got an email about that new law in almost all states. Supposed to change lanes for emergency vehicles that are on the side of the road OR slow down to 20mph UNDER posted speed limit. They say the tickest are $300+. You just confirmed that fer me Josh!

I've know about the law for years.
Its gonna get somebody hurt as bad as traffic is, and folks trying to get over in your lane when they don't want to slow down.
