Well while most of you seem to be working on your bikes in one fashion or another the wife and I along with Maddog went on a great chapter ride. Started out before we left with some minor sprinkles but then the sky cleared out and was 80. Rode through some very scenic area in the foothills of Washington County. Great ride with great friends. Topped it off with a great lunch and with sweet Montana cherry pie, dang that was good.
Glad you got in a ride today Joshbob nothing better than being intone wind.

Had a great ride yesterday. Stopped by dealership to get inspection done, they slipped me in and out quickly. Then up into the Mtns to Boone, NC to Boone Spring Rally. Weather was perfect, sunny and warm.... 75* then up to 80*. Rode in short sleeves and vest, man I love it when its that temp!

That sounds like a great ride. Wouldn't mind riding up there again someday.

That's cool Fatboy, nothing like riding with a great group of friends. Our ride was only a little over a 100 miles.

Next Saturday a group of us from the chapter are doing the 451 ride. It's more like 500 miles and its a fast paced ride. Not for slow riders as they said you don't keep up you get left behind. It's not a chapter ride but more like a word of mouth ride. Last year there was a guy who could not do corners and finally one guy dropped back with him they finally got back in hours after we did. We take off a 6:30 AM, pack your own lunch with a break at a park for food then hit the road again. No freeways all central and eastern Oregon roads with lots of switchbacks and curvy roads.

Sounds like a great ride. Ours can be trying at times. We get a lot of riders and many newbies. The club is growing in leaps and bounds which I think is ruining the rides. Today we had about 50 bikes. With all the traffic lights and traffic it gets boring as hell. We do have many nice roads but with the size of the group snails pace becomes the norm.

Our chapter rides are slower but we keep them well organized and work the lights so everyone knows where to go at the next corner if they get caught at a light. It's called a cookie crumb. In other words we leave a rider at the corner so the bikes coming up know where to turn. Works out pretty good.

Here is a couple of pics of some of the roads and areas we ride in over there. You would love it and so would Alex.
The last pic there is a road that follows that river (Deschutes River) that is a very cool ride then winds around and climbs the canyon wall up a couple thousand feet up.

Now that sounds like a ride... we do an Asheville to Deals Gap, Dragon, Cherahala Skyway and back to Asheville ride like that. Come with a full tank and empty bladder!
