Does anyone have any input as to which pipes (Rinehart or Bassani) that I should put on my 2005 FLHTCSE2? And any considerations that I need to know about? What can I expect to gain from either exhaust, as well as sound?

I've heard better things about the Vance and Hines true dual header (on which you can install any slip on style pipe) and Hooker tuned flow true duals than either bassani or rhinehart...don't limit your options is what I guess I'm saying. I don't own any of the above yet...but I have slip ons I really like so I've decided I'm going with the V&H duals this winter.

If you have your mind set on one of those two, go Bassani. The Rinehart just does not like big motors and develops a lot of reversion.

If you must stay true dual, consider the V&H true dual headers with good mufflers like Hooker, Cycle Shack, Samson, Vance and Hines etc. Or, get the true dual look and use a fake left side like the Thunder header falsee or D&D with ghost pipe.

Being a pretty stout motor, I would suggest a good 2-1 like the Pro pipe, Thunder Header etc.

The 103 isn't making max power yet anyway it's pretty lame (sorry) for as big as it is.

True duals are better than the stock system but not the best for making power however that "look" is what a lot of folks want.

If you want the look and a bit more power any of them will do, but do the air filter and get it adjusted to add more fuel and the bike will wake up.

A 2-1 is a better pipe and some slip ons will perform better than the true duals, But if you want the look you got some good advice above

In search of the perfect setup

I have to ask CD as to what is reversion. You stated that the Rineharts tend to have reversion. Does no other pipes have this, and what causes it in the Rineharts. I have seen and heard the Rineharts (in the shop only) but I do like the look and sound. I talking about the bub Rinehart true duals for the baggers

With respect to the true duals. Do Hookers not make headers and only slip ons, or is the Vance Hines better in the header department. How is the combination with the V&H header and the hooker slip ons. Which slip ons?

What is the best fit for the 05 Road King Classic with a 95 kit and Race tuner/Power Commander and cams?

    Reversion

Doesnt matter car, truck, boat, bike, reversion is the motor sucking air back in through the exhaust. Lots of things cause it, some pipes make it worse.

Vance and Hines always wins in the quality section IMHO. You would have to check the header size to muffler to make sure it fits Samson has the headers too>
