Did a little 1800 mile road trip last weekend, due to scheduling we couldn't go up this weekend for the meet, and the trip was a no go until Tues night when my neighbor popped over to say he'd been cleared to go at the last minute.

We thought we'd be skipping the trip.

Rode to Tallahassee Wed Night, not a bad ride, back roads, some rain, but mostly dry. Made it in about 10 PM to the hotel

Thursday Tallahassee to Lagrange GA, frog strangler kept our miles down Thursday, nasty weather... Couldn't go fast enough to stay dry... Day started wet, rode wet, ended wet, got so nasty we couldn't ride further, typical late summer storm black clouds, and rain being funneled up from the gulf as a front passed through..

Friday rode over to Leeds Alabamer to Barber Motorsports to see the
museum. Put it this way, if you are anywhere near it make the trip. The Porsche school was on the track, the place is 5 stories high, they have 500 more bikes etc in storage they can't fit in the Museum.. Truly worth the $15.

Left Leeds about 4 pm and rode up to Blairsville to The Lodge at Copperhead, stayed the night, got up changed out a bad headlight bulb, and rode to NC, Hit the Cherahola Skyway to Tapoco, then rode south, 68, and other back roads to Macon. Sunday we had a decent ride 400 miles back home.

Hit the Smokin Pig in Valdosta rated in the top 10 BBQ places in USA, Worth the stop... Nice Sliced Pork, fresh peach cobbler with ice cream.. Mmmm

Rained hard on Thursday, and of course Sunday afternoon after we hit Gainesville. All in all about 1800 miles, if we didnt' have the frog stranglers we'd have done more..

Gary's in there in the museum and filling the tire for the gals in that car.

What a beater, there wasn't a panel that hadn't been hit, no bumpers,
used a strap to hold the trunk lid shut and three kids in the car. They had
just bought a used tire and it was a bad used tire with bad sidewalls.

Couldn't get it to inflate, we told her to go back and make them change it as the sidewall was shot...

If I was in the pic who'da been using my phone... LOL

Speaking of road trips, I just got back home from my 10th trip to and from Alaska. I have a little cabin that I spend time fishing and hunting up there, and make this trip each year on my Harley. Over 2100 miles each way with lots of adventure, but mostly good solitude with nature.

My trip there was for recuperating from my injuries. The ride home was like a dream until a Wyoming cop woke me up and gave me a ticket for 90 in a 70 zone.
