What a really great ride today. Been wanting to do this ride for a long time. We rode down I-5 down to Albany then to the town of Sweet home and then across Foster Dam up Quartz Creek Rd and to Green Peter Dam. Sometimes the color of the water at Green Peter would be like the green color of a green ruby. We followed it up to a ridge that had some great views. Then down to the Santiam River and then into the city of Detroit. Then back into the Cascade MTN range riding up again to the Mt Jefferson Wilderness area and then down the Clackamas river to home. We rode somewheres about 260-270 miles today.
Any of you guys ever come here you will have some fantastic riding and a place to stay.

Detroit and Albany never looked so good! BTW, can't you guys come up with city names of your own rather than stealing them from the "right" side of the country?! :D

We got lots of our own city names but you guys can't pronounce em:D Like Estacade, Willamette, Molalla, Champoeg, Tualatin, Clackamas, just to name a few. :D. But then these cities like Detroit, Albany and including Nashville Oregon were named by Settlers trying to appease their nagging wives. Even, Portland was named after a city back east when they first settled here. Story has it that two leaders trying to appease their wives here flipped a coin to name the city either after Boston or Portland (after Portland Maine). Can't even imagine the name Boston :puke:
Portland Oregon has two major rivers that flow through it. The Columbia and the Willamette rivers and we have a huge sea port activity, so Port-Land fits better than Boston. By the way the flipping of a coin is a true story.
