Anyone really know the approximate value of an M-6 Scout Rifle (Springfiled), 22 Hornet over .410??? I have found ranges on the internet from 200-almost 600..... not sure what to believe. Any solid info would be greatly appriciated!!! Am looking into selling/trading for a Ruger P4MKIII .22 pistol...... Let me know what you thinK!

dunno chris....i am going to assume that the low price is for a rifle that is not in great condition and the high price is one that is pristine.....jmo..

This site is a good source to look at prices that are being asked for various guns. I found one like you describe for $800 with no reserve. Sounds high to me but I'm not really familiar with this gun. Good luck.

FWIW I found the rifle in an old Gun Trader's Guide I have and the gun is listed as:

Springfield Model M-6 Scout Rifle/Shotgun Combo
First issue (no trigger guard) $150
    Second issue (w/trigger guard) $125

It shows it with a folding detachable stock in 22LR/.410 and 22 Hornet/.410. Both the same price. This book is several years old.

I was talking to a gun dealer last evening....he stated the same thing, EXCEPT.... they are discontinued AND renewed interest is happening....he is willing to give me 300 for it, and he THINKS he could still make 100$ profit on it....but doesn't know for sure. I COULD try going to a gun show and parading around with it looking for a buyer for 450 or 500.....OR can just accept the 300 and get a Browning Buckmark 22...... let HIM worry about finding a buyer!

This is the one I found on Gunbroker.com.

    Springfield M6 Scout SS .22 Hornet.-410 GA 22 : Other at GunBroker.com

I can't imagine it costing as much as they're asking. Looks like a bunch of stamped out parts to me but they have a stock only and asking $395:eek: .

It was introduced in 1982 and imported from the Czech Republic. I had rather have the Ruger pistol if it was me but you'll have to make the call. Good luck.

I bought mine a few years ago, 22Hornet over 410 Stainless and it was $210 (most expensive @ time), then found out they had jumped to the $500 range when I went to sell mine. Springfield stopped production, was why. Had it offered to a buddy for $175, glad he backed out. Now it will just lay there and not eat anything until the boy gets up big enough to have some fun with her.

mine is blued, so probably not quite as expensive as the stainless.....but it has still climbed in value.....I "SHOULD" hold onto it......but I THINK that I will trade it for the 300$. I just don't have time to activly go out looking for a buyer.....so much more simple to just go to dealer, trade for 300, get the Buck Mark by Browning and be able to shoot!!

$300 would be pretty fair not to have to deal with it. That 22Hornet is one expensive rascal to pull the trigger on. The Buckmark is a nice little target killer too. The way I always looked at it, don't matter what it is worth, what are you willing to walk away happy with :D . I have given things away just to get rid of the headache or to trade for something I truly wanted more.

Prices vary due to market demand; condition of the weapon and what the buyer is willing to + what you are willing to part with for it.
If in good to excellent condition then you should be able to command a high range price and get it. But then again it all depends on you and the buyer.
    Good luck.
