I decided to remove some scratches from my saddle bag lids yesterday using some Turtle wax polishing compound, now I have even bigger scratches :banghead:. Suggestions anyone? Also I've been using one of those spray on....wipe off sprays, works pretty good, but does it offer the same protection of a good old fashioned Carnuba Wax? Last question is about the chrome. As much as I hate chrome, I wound up buying a bike that was loaded with extra chrome. At some point I will be removing said chrome pieces and either **** canning them or sending them out for powder coating. In the mean time is there any sort of protectant (other than wiping after every ride) I can use?

    Aloha....Mike

Soft waffle pad low speed on the buffer and 3m polishing cream . Then again with 3m imperial hand glaze finsh of with 3m wax. No more course rubbing compounds on clearcoat. With your hands . Might as well rubbed sand on your bag lids

How deep are the scratches? If you can drag you fingernail across the scratch and it catches, you will probably have to wet sand first. There is a ton of info on YouTube and google.

And if you use a buffer, it needs to be on Low speed and CLEAN
