hey to all! i have a 2004 LR with SE air filter, SE stage 1 download,V&H long shot stagered duals (power chamber), power commander, and it is at the HD dealer getting 1550 w/ high comp cast pistons and 211 cams installed. the dealer says i need the SE race ignition $119.95, they say it will pull out 10 deg of timing at WOT. does this sound right? 10 deg. sounds like a lot to me.i have heared in drag racing taking 2to3 out in high gear only. do i possibly have detination or pre ignition problems? thanks in advance. and thanks Direct Parts for the pipes and power commander, the right parts good parts and at a great price. mofasa

Through experance winth my 03 ultra clasic. Trash the power comander and get a race tuner. If you have fuel injection you will have a ping when the moter gets hot (or even warm) due to the high compression pistons and the 92 octain gas.

I have a 2003 FLHT with the basic same motor set up as you are getting plus the SE heads. I do have the carb model though. I just bought the 7000 rpm race ignition for it to install. They also have a 6200 rpm model. Which one are they suggesting for you?

If you have EFI, then everything is controlled by the ECU. I have no idea what this feller is talking about. Unless something was drastically changed in the EFI the ECU controls dwell, timing and fuel curve.

The HRT may be technogically better than a PCIII but, there is no reason to "trash" it at all. You have total control over timiing and the fuel curve and on the PC you have an added feature of an "accelerator" pump that is adjustable.

stick with the pc111 & if you are spending all that money on 95 inches you will not get the full benefit with the stock heads the power is in the heads
