Had a friend that used to joke about wives saying “you should trade em off every five years weather you like em or not”. He had been married to the same women over forty years when he died. Sometimes it’s worth hanging around a little longer. Happy Anniversary! Hope you have a Great time.

We made it back through all the rain. Rained so hard last night I thought we was going to float away. Great dinner at the casino and a few drinks in the bars afterwards watching the Oregon Ducks beat out USC.

Inspite of the rain we had a great time, the cats were not so happy. Here are a couple of pics. Fall colors were great. We didn't see any bikes out.

Target  don't tell the wife. We had two of em with us. One the older (5 years) has a heart condition and the wife gives her pills three times a day. She is like her child so they go with us. The little one Missy is 5 months old and is a terror. Wife calls her wild women.

Hey Cowboy so I started late. The first one was like living in hell and almost cured me on doing another one. Pat, well she is great not a mean bone in her body. I can't believe how lucky I got.

Congrats on the anniversary and many more. I been married 29 going on 30 years here real soon. .

    Couple questions:

1)after being married for 20 years the first time what was it that motivated you to do it again? Most married folk, me included, swear they would never do it again. What happens once you find yourself single? Is it the human sense of the need for companionship? You inevitably find someone you really like? Fear of being alone?

2)Curious of your opinion of RV's versus hotels. With 7-8 years to go before we retire we have talked about to buy or not to buy an RV. And which kind. Recently I had a potential good deal on a 28 footer travel trailer with a full slideout but opted not to pull the trigger for a number of reasons. Figured I'd never spend 10-20,000$ over a lifetime on hotels. Hotels are easy on and easy off the highway and easy to find. Average cost for a nite, at least while we were recently on the road for 3 weeks was about $50-70+ a nite with full complimnetary breakfast buffets. RV's seem to recquire either strategic pre planning to some degree(I own a woodall CD disk for all campgrounds and RV sites thru out the USA). Plus how difficult is the pulling in and out of a spot? How easy is it to keep up with the dumping of the grey and black water? When we were thinking of buying the 28 footer we thought we'd set it up either in Maine(3500$ a season) or North Carolina (6000$ a season). Not cheap. What does it cost to stay a night in an RV camp?

Hope you don't mind the questions. Not trying to hijack your thread.I figure as a seasoned RV'er you would better know thru experience the advantage of an RV over a hotel room or visa versa. That 28 footer we had a chance to buy was like a beautiful living room on wheels with a full size shower, full kitchen,2 overstuffed chairs, futton couch and slept 6 w/ a queen size master bedroom.

By the way you have a very nice RV/car set up there.

badinfluence63, The reason that we have the RV is so the wife and I can be able to go for a weekend someplace. The wife has a very sick cat, has an enlarged heart and it has to have medication 3 times a day. So going to a motel is out of the question as most don't allow cats. Otherwise we probably would not have one although they are kind of nice.
The motor home is just a 28 foot with no slide out (should have gotten one with a slide). I can pull our trailer with the bikes in it also but have not done it yet. If we go to Sturgis again we will have to take the motorhome due to her cat, providing its still alive and if not I would prefer to ride and take the motorcycle tent trailer.
The motels along the Oregon coast will run 80-125 a night in the winter and more in the summer. Our camp spot with full hook ups (water, electric, cable, and sewer) was 56.00 for two nights. Others can cost more depending on where you go. Oregon has some really nice state campgrounds.
Dealing with the sewer is not to bad. We usually also stay in camp grounds with full showers but can set up where there are none.

As for getting married again, well I was single for a while Pat was single for over 10 years. After getting divorced I wanted to meet other single women but don't like the bar scene. So I took up Square Dancing at a singles club. I know we all did in in grade school but this was way more fun. Started dancing with Pat and started dating her and then we both discovered we had a lot in common and the next thing I knew I was married again. Wished I could have meant her before the first one, and so does my family.

This is her sick cat, yea I've heard all the stuff about bullets are cheap but her cat is like her child, so what you gonna do.

What kind did you get. Ours is a 99 Allegro 28 foot, not to big and it works well. Its a Chevy gas motor, no diesel for me 454 seems to have enough power. Chuck, they constantly need repairs :D.
