 SO HERE I AM LOOKING FOR ANSWERS....MY RIDE IS A '92 FULL REBUILD FXR SUPERGLIDE HD. MECH.MODS INCLUDE E46 CAM , S/EAGLE HEADS , MIKUNI AND HYPERCHARGER WITH SANTEE 50CAL LONG SHOT PIPES. PISTONS ARE STOCK FLAT TOP HD. CAN'T SEEM TO GET FULL ( IT'S IN THERE SOMEWHERE ) HP. FROM THE BIKE. BEST DYNO IS AT 62.5 HP AND I'M TOLD THE PIPES ARE 99 % THE PROBLEM. AM ADVISED , CHANGE THE PIPES TO SAY S&S SLASH CUTS AND YOU'LL BE AT 80'S PLUS JUST FROM THAT FIX. ??? ANY IDEAS OR ALTERNATIVES OUT THERE FOR ME ?? WOULD APPRECIATE SOME TALK BEFORE I GO TRIAL AND ERROR ROUTE... THANKS , SHADOW.

Long Shots tend to kill off power,

With the build you have a better pipe will be a 2-1 like the thunderheader for the street.

Or go back to the stock headers and put on a set of Khrome Werks HP+ or Cycle shack slip ons.

That should get your power curve up, then get it properly tuned

    Problem ' Pipes '

 Thanks for the advice there. I am starting to realize that ' long shots ' whilst an OK cosmetic pipe are slowing the bike and causing power fade. I'll need to scratch around here to check out those pipes you recommend. Is there a website for the maker ?? .. Thanks , SHADOW.

 Have now been told there is a cheaper ( about $100 AUS. parts ) and equally effective fix than having to go to expense of switching pipes.

Fit reuduction cones and baffles that will allow repositioning to achieve max. hp..

    Anyone tried that ?

    SHADOW.

Try D&D Fat Cats. Big performance improvement. They are two into one and really helped my 02 Dyna. All the reports I read said they are a top performing header and they were right. Just keep in mind that they are LOUD.

I believe you are reffering to something like the big city thunder monsters. added to drag pipes they bring back some of the lost torque and horsepower while keeping the "cool" sound. I've seen good dyno results from others who've used them.

If Shadow doesn't have the scratch to pony up a new exhaust yet (which is the best option...especially a 2-1 exhaust) these will provide a nice bump for a small hit to the wallet.

    selecting the right pipes

I agree with hotroadking,2 into1 type exh. tend to produce the most performance when combined the other performance items. The cam you mentioned(E46???)-or-(ANDREWS EV46)...has a duration of .246int./.246exh.
with a lift of:.495***this cam produces good power in higher R.P.M.s
dragpipes may sound badass, but not enough to give up potential hiding
    horsepower that your motor has.
