Going to go look at an 80 FX on Sunday. The seller is motivated. 93 C.I. stroker in it. Kick and electric start.

Sunday I can. It was in a pretty dark area. Sunday we will be taking it out of the dark area so I can get a better look.

How long has it been since you've kick started a bike.

No bike was purchased today, but the negotiating continues. We are just a tad too far off on dollar amount.

Good thing you've got a big garage! Good luck with that FX.......kick start is cool, old school, but the dual start is even better.

Is it a super glide? Low rider? Fatbob? Wideglide? Either or the bikes worth 5000-5500$ does the stroker bump the price up or down? The stoker motors value is subjective. To purest it devalues the bike. To the seller it increases the price. If thats the sticking point split the difference?

Not 100% sure what it is other than an fx. The bike isn't running and is somewhat a basket case. The bike has the engine in the frame, wheels, tranny, primary all installed but the tanks, rear fender are not on the frame. It doesn't have the original front end on it. This bike would be a project bike not to restore back to original.

Those prices i wrote were bikes in excellent condition

Basket case drops that below half.

I understand. This guy is asking too much for the bike period. I will post some pictures of it for you.

Looks like the wideglide sans the 21" wheel. To me thats a 2200-3000$ max bike in my opinion. Depending what if any value the stroker motor adds to the bike? Was the motor done right and if not whats wrong.

Can i ask whats he asking?

The front end isn't stock and that's a wider front wheel on. He's asking $4,000. Yes, the bike has been sitting for about 4 years.

4000$ ...yeah no way. Theres more then 1500$ worth of work needed to get to that 5500 kbb excellent condition price. Rims and rocker boxs probably rusted and pitted.

I know how the seller feels though. Before i fixed my '83 FL bike someone offered me 3000-3200$ and i just couldn't do it because i felt it had to be worth more. It was just not in its past condition.
