Shifter linkage

On my 03 bagger the linkage arm on the splined shaft coming out of the trans is loose, is there enough room to change the arm without pulling the primary side apart? Thanks

Not totally sure, but I don't think there is enough rooom to get it off of the shaft without pulling the primary. My brother in-law had the same issue with his 02' RK. He backed the screw out and cleaned the threads and re tightened it. Not loose anymore. Just be careful not to break off the screw.

In order to remove the arm, you have to pull the primary. You can remove the bolt, move the arm back on to the shift shaft and reinstall the bolt. Make sure that the shift arm doesn't wiggle once you've done this, the splines tend to wear out when they have been loose, especially of you have a heal shifter and like to stomp shift.
