My Ultra has started missing the shift when down shifting from 3rd to second and second to 1st. Shifter will go all the way down and I'll let it come back up and it might do it again or it may catch and shift down. Sucks when your trying to shift down when coming into a corner, any thoughts?

Yea, as soon as I get my Springer back together I'm going to take it in as your right Chuck it is under warranty. I'm just wondering what could cause it. If it was something simple and I didn't need to take it in I'd do it.

    Check fluid levels
you have an auto tensioner on the primary chain so you can't really adjust that.

I would take it in with warranty...

That was the first thing I did was check the fluid levels and everything was OK. So, when I get the Springer finished adding the new chain tensioner and cams in I'll take the Ultra in for Warranty. Thanks all for the answers as its been really puzzling.

Check the shifter (front lever) and be sure it's not stripped or loose and jumping on the rod, make sure all the rods are adjusted and tight...

After that you'd need to get in the trans...

Yea, everything is tight no stripping (that was my first thought). When it does it there is no resistance just dead space.

sounds like you could have the top spring broken on the shifting prawl. If so everything has to come out of trans to repair it.

Yep and now there talking rain and snow in the passes, riding anyway. :)

Heading down I-5 to Shasta and then over to Susanville and into Reno. 650 miles 10 hours and 17 minutes. Wanna bet I make it 9.5 hours or less.
