Time to dump the original rear shocks. Ordered a pair of shocks for my Fatboy. Found the Progressive 422 Chrome on EBay for a good price with free shipping. They are coming from minniesoda!

I've been wanting to do that on my 07 EGU too. Air shocks just don't seem as good to me.

I put Progressive 944's on the back of the Electra Glide. They are a lot better for two up riding..at least for my wife and me.

Looking good, Fatboy. I'm sure they will be great. I have a Progressive Suspension lowering kit in my wide glide front end and they work fantastic.

Got them in already. Raining hard today through Monday. Manual says you need a SnapOn tool that cost $54. Screw them. 3/4" box wrench does it just fine. Took about 40 mins. Can't ride until Tuesday. I will report on them then

Funny how they always try to get you to buy an expensive "specialty" tool when most of the time an ordinary tool out of your box will do just fine .

The tool isn't needed to remove and install them but if you want to torque the bolts, due to the lack if clearance , the tool is required. But, these bolts call for 110lbs of torque which using a 10" long 3/4" box wrench means effin tight no torque wrench needed.

I'm no fly weight and with the preload set on lightest my heft pushes the bike down about 3/4". I don't ride 2 up anymore. I think heavy duty would be to firm. You look to be less than 200 lbs so would think these standards would be just fine for ya

Yup. Sometimes when I need to eyeball torque like that, I'll double wrench for more length and more leverage.

I tried two different progressive rear shocks for my road king. I didn't like either set. They where the under $300 sets though. I always went back to the harley rear lowered air shock the best. I also have progressive front springs. I do like those a whole bunch.

Once this dam rain stops (Tuesday) I'll get to try them out. I'm thinking positive since I've rum progressive rears on my Japanese performance bikes years ago and they worked great.

The rain finally let up this morning and it looks to be dry and warm through the middle of the week. Hoping the shocks work out for you.
