Can anyone tell me about the buddy seat. I want to install one on my old FLH,
Isn't this a tall seat with the post installed? Problems with feet reaching the ground to roll the bike? Should I install a "mini shock" instead of the seat post? If anyone could tell me alittle about this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

you are correct, the seat front mounts on a sprung post installed in the seat post frame, anchored by a 5/16 nut from the under side of the frame. the rear has adjustable spring for ride highth. if ya on the short side, it does make it difficult to touch the ground with both feet. it can be lowered enough tho......if you are good at fabricating......you can make your own mounts to get it lowered. the ride will suffer tho, hard to beat the ride a buddy seat will give you........

Thanks for the reply. Does the spring post compress enough for your feet to reach the ground OK, and push the bike around? I'm 5'9, and it seems it may be a little tough to get a firm footprint when reversing if I install this seat.

Thanks for your reply. I'm gonna try this seat, maybe try soften up the springs, so the seat sits a bit lower, so I can move this thing around with more than the tips of my toes.

what i would do is replace all three springs. the one in the post is pretty stiff. find one that is a bit softer. the rear springs are adjustable, but if ya cant get the ride you want, just replace them with after market softer springs.......
