I have a 1200 shovelhead, put a sportster cv carb on her because of the air cleaner design. What upgrade should I do to make it run better (jets etc.) ?

I would install one of kens kits and a v-ductor. I have both & wished I would have found them 10 years ago. Stage 1 Carb Tuner Kit

if you put an 883 carb on the shovel your jets are to small.......will need to go up a bit with them.........call ken, let him know what ya did and he will get you fixed up!!!!! no better carb kits on the market..........

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to get the 1200 sportster kit, since this is a stock 1200 shovel. The CV carb is already an improvement over the original, just seems to have a lean fart at times.

I guess I would need to know more. I am assuming that the engine is fairly stock. I just did a conversion on mine and I am using a 46 pilot and a 185 main plus changed the needle. Before I changed the main I would get some farting as well. Since I have changed the jetting, my bike has only farted twice in 300 miles. I have some performance stuff done to mine, plus an EVO, but this is a starting point maybe???
