    Huh ?

    Well, I'm having a little trouble understanding what your trying to say, (it's probably me) If your talking about down-shifting to slow down (engine braking) your rear tire could be losing traction, but not skidding; which will seem like a vibration back there.

    How about the rubber mounts on the swing arm? Have seen these give up often on a hot rod motor because of increase in torque. Also the flywheels may not be true. Dutch

    Was it stroked or poked (bored)? You say 96" with Wiseco's? Usually it is 95" with Wiseco etc.

    Stroking can cause balance issues unless you re-balance where as oversize pistons if they are the same relative weight as stock do not cause any changes to speak of. If went to 95" bore, You might be noticing that small difference in vibration that is due to a small change in the piston weight from stock.

    All single pin 2 or more cylinder engines will have harmonic vibrations at certain RPM points. On a rubber mount, the shaking goes away just off idle. If you increase RPM slowly you will come across a point (usually at about 2,200 RPM) where you get a buzz or bit of vibration. Then, above that point it settles down again. The same thing will happen at roughly twice that RPM. That is the usual buzzing a lot of riders of baggers will complain about because they have never ridden a rubber mount before and came off of another brand.

    Balanced ?

    Hi folks. Ya I was thinking alone the lines of what Dutch said;

    MIGHT be a balance issue with the motor.

    It MIGHT not be a balance issue.

    I doubt it is stroked, who told you that?

    Ride it like ya stoled it, and if it breaks you found the problem. :D

    The Dyna uses a different mounting system than the FXR / FLT does. It uses two vulcanized rubber mounts much like an automotive type. Unlike the FXR / FLT, the Dyna system does not allow so much fore and aft movement of the entire drive train which was a major issue with high output Pro-Street FXR's like the Kenny Boyce based FXR's we built.

    The swingarm is mounted with the pivot through the back of tranny the same as the FXR but, it does not have Cleve blocks. The swingarm pivot bushings are pretty much standard stuff.

    That is one area that the Dyna is much better in. If they could make that frame a little less twitchy.....

    Has anyone pushed an FXDX hard? Did it still want to wander in the turns?

    CD you are right about the new Dyna frames, I should know better than to type and have two thoughts at the same time. You know these senior citizen moments are either getting closer together or lasting longer? Dutch
