My first thought would be proper surface prep were sealing takes place ?is it clean strait and dry of oil . In the head gasket area .second what is cylinder press on that 93 shovel motor. Am Irunning to much timing or am I lean "? If the valves were tight my compression would be low and run like crap at idle and missing at low rpm. Don't. Know if that's the case there is it a solid cam or did you convert to hydro lifter kit ? If you did roll motor over till lifter bottoms in the bore adjust push rod till it just drags as you roll it in your fingers that would be zero lash .then go 1 and a half to 2 turns you want at least 20 thousands pre load on the lifter at zero lash that is if its a hydro lifter. If its a solid cam you must look at what the cam card says for valve lash set up?

are you retorqueing them after your first heat cycle? how are you torqueing the heads in the first place.like paul said, either surfaces are not true/clean or your not torqueing heads right (also check the counter bore on the head,if heads were not bored right,it could be causing gasket failure)

you should retorque them after the first time starting the bike (while the bike is still warm),then @ 50 miles too.like i said before, measure your spigot depth & width & make sure the heads were bored properly)
