Found this on the Dyna Ignition site

    Q. Will the Dyna S work in early Panhead applications with reverse rotation distributors?

    A. Yes the Dyna S works in these applications extremely well. Just remember that in these reverse rotation appplications that the front cylinder becomes the rear for ignition purposes. When using the DS6-2 single fire, simply reverse the black and white wires. With the DS6-1 dual fire, simply use the rear cylinder timing marks. Some modification to the mounting plate may be necessary for proper clearance.

Here is a link to the dyna S model on thier site, you can get them at any major suppiler for Dyna, indy shops, online etc, you might want to call them about the setup.

Dutch someone on HTT posted the same and said it works under the stock cover, also that spike has a setup but you have to change the distributor works great but doesn't look stock.

    One Response was

If you want to use a DynaS, you'll need a special distributor that will accept a electronic module designed for a nose cone. I'm not sure the DynaS will work on a panhead since it needs to allow the rotor to spin the opposite direction when you mount one in a distributor. There are other electronic, single fire modules that will work with a panhead. PowerArc and Spyke both sell them. There are others too, but they escape me this morning. THis is an image of the guys bike with the spike.

Either the DynaS DS6-2 or Spyke ignition would be my choice. Someone told me the Spyke ignition is now sold under the Crane name (or maybe I got that backwards?).

Spyke was not sold to Crane AFAIK. The thing to bear in mind that with the Dyna S you still use the stock mechanical advance unit. So, you gain a hall effect trigger and zero maintenance but still have to service and maintain the mechanical advance. Not a ton gained for the money IMHO.
