I purchased the stage 1 kit with ez just screw and new packing for my 1996 flstc and installed it today with 45 slow and 185 main and a/f out 2 1/2 used kens directions and all went great bike runs better than ever only problem is the slide was already drilled out larger than the
bit size in the kit so starting from a stop the bike would cough a bit i'm wondering if it is possible to install a new slide without taking the carb off the bike or is more tuning needed chopped 4 sets of plugs looked perfect.also installed a hypercharger and thundermonster baffles.must say best cv kit i've worked with does more than the say it does

I don't think you'd have enough room to get the slide out with the carb mounted and the tank on. It would be easier to pull the carb from the manifold, you can leave the cables attached. The drilled port in the slide could very well be the problem, if you used the lighter spring from the kit, you could try putting the stock spring back in(as long as it wasn't shortened) to see if that helps before buying a new slide.
CV carbs will cough a bit if the bike isn't up to running temps and the enrichener is closed
