Can someone please tell me if carburetor cleaner is going to damage the diaphragm on the slide of a CV carb?

Short story...I accidently sprayed where I shouldn't have, didn't think about it/realize till after the carb was put bacl together, and I'm planning on reinstalling the carb first thing tomorrow morning. (first time working on a carb)

Any quick help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Robert

    Re: Slide Diaphram ??

you could take the slide and diaphram out and hold it between you and a light and look for holes.
I'm sure someone will chime in.
Can't remember for sure but I think i cleaned mine with carb cleaner.

No probably not, it's carb cleaner and it gets into everything.

Put it back in properly, make sure it's seated and not torn and be
cautious when putting the cap back on, don't pinch the seal or tear
    it...

If you are bothered by it, go to the HD store and pick a new one up but IMO
if it's not torn it's fine...

Thanks for the reply Hot RK. I took it out last night and softy washed it with some soap and water. It looks like it in good shape so
I''m going to save the $49 buck and use it.

    Thanks again!

Here's a little trick - put the diaphragm in the freezer for a while before you install it. They're hard to get lined up & tend to act like they're too big, but when they're real cold, they're a lot easier to work with. And no, carb-cleaner won't hurt 'em.

Up works on the old style rubber Evo Rocker gaskets, and the old evo derby cover rubber o ring... Freeze it up...
