Been there and done some of that. Being a long time surf, boat and fly fisher I've experienced a lot of what your photos show. Fortunately not too many on myself but I have removed some pretty nasty self inflicted hooks out of some buddies and sports (clients). Once I had to go to an ER to get one out of my face. Just the hazard of having fun!

Actually pros always insist on wearing glasses usually sun glasses or in low light yellow. As a guide I wouldn't take any sport out fly fishing if they wouldn't wear them. I was hard enough taking hooks out of backs of heads !

I find all this quit funny as all the years of fishing and fly fishing I never once put a hook in myself. I can see it happening though and just shake my head at the thought of removing hooks from someone.

I used the "mono snap" a bunch of times on guys that hooked themselves fly fishing. Especially doing the chuck and duck salmon or steelhead with 50 cal musket balls to get the fly down into the holes in white water. Also, if you ever caught a blue fish in the surf with a lure like Marc posted, two treble hooks and a fish the wants to tear your head off sooner or later your gonna get hooked. It's not a matter of IF it's a matter of a WHEN

Don't fish in the surf to many sharks in the ocean. My fishing was all done in the river because we have so many of them. Steelhead and Salmon fishing in the rivers hear is great.

Yep, caught blues on outerbanks lotta times, if blues running, it can get real crowded. First time I ever went as a kid, walked right up there with that 11 foot rod and threw out and crossed bunch of lines. Got called a lot of bad stuff as I walked getting line over others. Older guys I was with laughed the azz off at me. Gotta learn somehow.

Here's a video of a couple guys I sometimes fish with. Stay with it. An interesting story of a buddy and joe he hooked himself and nearly died. Another guy got a lead sink through his eye and out the back of his head.
