My 01 Springer has 39,000 on the odometer and it was bottoming out and started dragging in the slightest corners. Adjusted the shock and am now at the full out adjustment for height. I'm looking into replacing the shocks and wondered instead of stock would the progressive shocks be better than the stock ones. Not interested in air shocks. Also with the limited amount of room under the bike anyone know how hard they are to get out to replace them?

I replaced my 00 heritage with progressives in 01, stock shocks bottomed on everything...

It's 2010 and the progressives are still working great, I can adjust them manually for max height or slam the bike, I leave it stock, if you have a lot of weight to carry order heavy duty springs.

Call my buddy Phil at California Phils he'll get you a deal..

Thanks, those prices are a lot less than the HD shop and looks like no shipping.

I'm glad you posted this. I changed my original shocks at around 30K, and now I'm pushing 90K. I've been feeling like it's time for a change.

I have the service manual but are there any suggestions when replacing them or is it pretty much straight forward install.

they come with instructions but it's easy 4 bolts basically

    jack the bike up
remove the front bolts and safety clip (Clip first)
remove rears with rubber bushings in the swing arm

    replace...
