Well, new to him atleast. Some of you answered my inquiry about Sportsters, and later Super Glides, as my brother was looking for a lower priced Harley. Well, after his trip to Sturgis, he finally just went an got what he wanted in the first place, a Heritage. Cost a few dollars more, but now he's happy with his buy. Still didn't spend a huge amount, it's a '01, but has only 14,000 miles on it. Pics don't show all that well, cause it was getting later in the evening when I took them, but it's a dark red and black. Real nice shape. Thanx to all for their help before.

Wow! It looks like brand new. Beautiful bike. I'm glad he got what he wanted. 14,000 miles is nothing. I've got over 86K on my '01 Softail now, and it's still running strong. He can have that bike for a long time. It's cheaper in the long run to get the bike you want and stick with it.

I've always said the Heritage gives you the best bang for your buck as its already got the windshield, saddle bags and other extras you don't have to buy. Looks like it already has aftermarket pipes on it to. Nice looking bike, my 01 Heritage Springer has 39,000 on it and still running strong.

    Congratulations to your bother.
Yes nice bike and good color too. Lots of people use the Heritage as a touring bike, softtails ride gooood, I have 46,000 miles on my 05 Fatboy with the stock seat. The only think he needs to do is regular maintenance and check those cam chain tensioners as the miles add up.

Yes, definitely the cam tensioners. Mine made it to about 70K, but apparently I'm an exception. Most do them around 25 or 30K I think.

We had a good ride today. He's lovin the bike. We infact talked about highway pegs when we got back to my place. He isn't sure he needs them as he's pretty short and can hardly reach the crash bar as it is, but I showed him how he could have them low and use the front of the floor boards as a sort of stirrup. Thought that was a pretty good idea.

As for getting on the board, I'll ask again and send him the link, but he's not big on spending much time on the 'puter. He might get bored once riding season is over though.

In the meantime, I'll pass along all the nice comments on his new scoot.

That's the only other bike that I would own, the Heritage. I loved cruising my cousins bike last year on our road trip.

Man  and I liked you, Get up off the Pigglets already. You "Old Farts" can have your garbage wagons :roflmao: .

That is a sweet ride. I hope he has a lot of miles of safe riding fun with it. When I get a lot LONGER IN THE TOOTH I might consider a windshield.

Wavak47 you know we all got nothing against sportsters but I've seen guys get off them after a few hrs and they are stiff in that ride position. Technically my geezer glider, lead sled, recliner, mobile nursing home, garbage wagon -- doesn't have a windshield:fight::fight::roflmao:

:roflmao: well I don't know how to class a garbage wagon with no windshield . My longest ride was from Charleston WV to Cherokee NC via the Blueridge Parkway. Left at 7:30 and got off the bike at about 23:30. Needed better directions to the cabin LOL, thought the goofy family in the cage had a map. What I get for thinking LOL. I will admit my padded 2X6 had turned into just a plain ol 2X6 by then but no crying allowed. Felt like someone kicked me in the crotch LOL. By the next morning 8:00 I was back on the scooter and did fine riding down there all week. I were afraid of morning when I went to bed but woke up fine. I just love my Sporty even though it brings a bunch of grief down around my ears LOL. If you are on two wheels and in the wind I don't care what you do it on. I even speak to those people on rice LOL.
