I'm back with more dumb questions :D I've got a bad problem with my fuel tank. It seems as though my inner tank was stripped and sealed improperly. I know this since at my last couple fill ups I could see large flakes floating around in my liquid gold. Is my tank junk?? Can I re-strip and seal it?? As of now I'm going to wash was tank out and run it! Gotta get ready for spring fast!

yes the tank can be resealed , & yes you can rewash it out just make sure you get all the flakes out , drain it I would use air & try to blow the flake out then wash it out with hose , just make sure its dry before trying to gas to carb :D

over the years I've had so many problems with Old gas tanks that has been resealed cloggin up fuel lines, messing up carbs and giving problems.
Nothin like a new fuel tank. Git rid of the problem for good.
And with the Ethanol in the fuel, its eating up things like no tomorrow.

A season is all year for me. That's a long time.
I'd be going on motorcycle forums and ebay and bike swap meets lookin at new tanks for something to do.
You never know what you might find.
And this is startin the season for it.

Nothin worst than break'n down away from the house.
Would hate for my bike to be on the side of the road.

Check out some auto radiator shops...ask if they have done motorcycle tanks...if they have they can clean and reseal yours for about the same price as the kits...better way to go IMO, no toxic chemicals for you to mess with and the coating to slosh around....most of the kits are crap anyway...I had the tanks done on my Evo buy a local rad shop over a decade ago and they're still as good as the day they did them...Drop it off, pick it up,shell out a few bux and you're ready to roll:D

You just don't want your tank to be the first one for them... unless they'll guarantee your paint job;):)

When I see the radiator shops I see the soldering it with a torch.
Thought he would have to git it hot to seal it with solder after he cleaned it with Acid.
