I changed to the scream'n eagle plug wires about 4 years ago or 25,000 miles ago, couldn't tell any difference in the stoc or the SE wires. plugs I change about every 10,000 miles. buy at the auto parts store much cheaper.

BTW on the newer bikes there is knock or "ion" sensing technology in the ECM and it uses the plug wires to sense, so if you go and make your own from an autoparts store like Accell etc you will get all kinds of codes. You have to use HD or one that is certified for the newer bikes with the sensing technology,

I think pretty much all Delphi bikes use it..

Like sarge said if it aint broke don't fix it, had one go bad with 28,000 miles on it, replaced as a set and have 80,000 on this set and still fires fine.

Thanks all. I was just wonderin. That is so true if It ain't broke don't fix it. From the spark plug wirers I went to checkin the price on a electronic speedo for my FXR. By the time I added up most everything it was close to $500.00 bones. !%#@ that. I'll put up with my mecanical one that is 16 mph ( or so) off and do the math. After 100 MPH it don't matter anyway. Now I'm gona price me some bars and cables.

find a used one on Ebay - we did for my buddies 98 RK when his original went out.

Also if you find one for a different year you just need the wire diagrams to hook it up..

I think he paid $80 or so....
