well, i have had the bike out of the shop for a whole week now, and it's still running
my bike has turned into a spitter, and it only does it when i am just trying to hold and maintain a set speed, like 3200 rpms
it does that any where from 3000 rpms to 4000 rpms trying to ride steady
i had a set of new mufflers along with a top end rebuild, the bike was re-jetted, could it have been re-jeted wrong??
or could it be the ignition???
your driving 60 mph, and every couple of miles, sometimes less,it spits like a hooker with a pubic hair in her mouth!!!!!! did i say that??? but that is was it really sounds like, not that i would know................ hanging head in shame.....
the reason i dont think it is the ignition, is because it starts up without a choke, purrs like a kitten at idle, and if you dog on it, it just runs so sweet,
it just does'nt like to cruise............

What kind of carburetor is it? If it starts cold, with no choke and idles good, then your running fat. If you know that your ignition and timing is right, I’d re-jet (down) your carb.
    Good Luck.

Its an S&S Super E, i dont even know where the jets are located, much less what size they are.............
shaking head sideways, and they dont show a picture in my harley manual, lol
so i need a smaller set of jets??? less fuel, less air,am i following this right???
is this somthing i can do??? or does it require a mechanic???
smirking, see'in how the mechanic jetted it for me ,when i changed mufflers and had a top end done.........

Yepper, the S&S carb is one of the simplest / straight forward carbs out there, but before you/we go re-jetting things;,, if you just had it tuned by ‘JJ’?, then I’m certain if you tell him what’s going on he’ll be glad to fix it for ya.
    Let us know what’s up.

Something else to consider, you changed your mufflers? Are they more open or closed, if they are more restrictive then that will make it run fatter also. Your air cleaners is in good shape ?.
    Just food for thought.

i know jj, would take care of it if i could get it to him, i am affraid to take it over the cause way, its under construction right now, and that aint the place to be breaking down. my truck of course is still in the shop having a new motor put in it, so i have just been puttin around till i can get it back to him. i was hoping this was simple enough i could do it. but i think i will wait till my truck gets fixed and haul it back over there.........
smirking and those pipes i had put on are 6 1/2 " mega-phones, o yaaaaaa i got them just for my one neighbor, can you'll feel the love.........NOT!!!!
they look really cool, they just drag on everything, bumps, leaning, ect....

 TGR, try putting the old pipes back on , & see if this help's out if it goes back to where it was then you need to rejet with the new pipes easy way to double check , while your trucks gets fixed to haul the bike back to JJ's

Go to www.sscycle.com and go to the tech section you can download the manual for that carb. it has a couple of adjustments the air mix screw could be out of position, jetted wrong multiple things with the carb.

Sounds like a fuel issue it's having.
