Sportster backfire

    I have a 98 Sportster. Recently it has developed a "backfire" and "dying" problem after riding several miles. Backfires a couple of times, then dies. Will start after few minutes, but continues to have problems. Could it be a coil? I had a similar problem when the bike was new.
