Sporty 1200 xlh custom 2002 carb question

    Hey,
    If anybody knows... I am rebuilding my carb on my bike with all cv performance parts. I plan on putting in a that high flow fuel inlet on the carb also. I would like to upgrade the petcock to a high flow but I see that the one on my bike has a vacuum built into it. So do i need to buy a petcock with a vacuum built in? OR do i just plug the vacuum nipple on the carb and buy a std high flow petcock? I have heard that the gas caps on models 2000+ have plenty of air flow as the let the gas drop from the tank to the carb with no issues... The help is much needed and appreciated!

    I'd go with a Pingel petcock and cap the vacuum nipple on the carb.Gravity hasn't stopped workin yet...vacuum petcocks have. Just make sure the gas cap vents properly.

    Ill be posting some pics as soon as the garage gets warm enough to bolt all my extras on. Thanks for the info fellas! I will just plug the vacuum and buy a good high flow petcock.

    You can take the vacuum parts out of the stock petcock if you want. The Pingle petcock is expensive & you don't need one unless the engine's been seriously modified.

    Found a nicely priced ($40) milwaukee twins high flow petcock. Pingels are really nice and im sure they are worth the price but I don't have a drag bike quite yet. I still plan on just capping the vacuum connection to the cv carb. Get rid of that plain looking oem petcock anyhow. Thanks everybody!

    remember to turn it off at stops and
    when you park it for the night.

    If it ever did fail, you'll flood the engine with
